When it comes to weight loss, bad habits are the number one culprit that interfere with progress. We all have bad habits that can sabotage our fitness goals. They are so difficult to break because we don’t think about our bad habits; we just do them. The best way to succeed at weight loss is to identify all of your bad habits. They may include mindless eating while watching television, eating candy at the office, and socializing more than working out at the gym. Write all of your bad habits down and place the list somewhere visible. Plan to overcome these habits by creating a plan to reverse them. If you snack while watching television, plan to do some stretches or exercises every night instead of eating. If you eat candy at the office, place a bowl of fruit or healthy snacks on your desk so that you will not eat the candy. Think of healthier habits that you can replace each of your bad habits with. This will force you to think about what you can do rather than what you can’t. Also, after a few weeks of practicing your new healthy habits, they will become second nature for you and you will be closer to your weight loss goals.
